Licensing

Rights Managed
All images for purchase from the Frank Worth collections are licensed. Image licenses are very important, and serve to protect the rights of all parties: the seller or distributor of the images, those who purchase and use images; those who own, create, or produce images; and even those whose likenesses are included in the images. The type of licensing is one factor that impacts image pricing. Licensing can be both Non-exclusive and Exclusive and means that the image is licensed for a specific use.
Customers generally choose rights-managed products when the image, film clip or audio file will be used for a high-profile project -- such usage often connects a brand or a corporation's identity to that particular image, clip or sound bite. Higher licensing fees prevent these products from 'saturating' the marketplace, thus helping to reduce potential competitive conflicts.

Non-exclusive:

  • The buyer pays a license fee each time they use the image, but another buyer can also purchase and use the image under the same license.
  • The buyer must specify, each time: intended use, media, territory and duration.
  • Pricing is based on intended use, media, duration and territory. The territorial pricing will be matched to the specific country.

Exclusive :

  • The buyer pays a license fee each time they use the image.
  • The buyer obtains exclusive use of an image under the terms of the license: these terms may affect the use, media, territory and/or duration in which the image can by used by other buyers.
